It may seem that there are alot of Virtual Assistants around, but you need to consider this: having a niche will increase your chances of success.
At the moment and for the forseeable future, internet marketing skills are hot. The thing is, internet marketing can be very profitable but at the same time, very time-consuming. Businesses are struggling to keep up with all the tasks they need to do such as updating blogs, social media networking, submitting articles, keyword research, affiliate marketing - the list goes on!
It’s anticipated that 80% of small to medium sized businesses will have an internet presence by 2009 and will be actively marketing online. That means over 20 million potential clients for VAs!
However, internet marketing VAs are thin on the ground. Now is the time to capitalize on the meteoric growth of internet businesses and make sure you’re positioned to help these potential clients.
But how and where are you going to learn all this stuff?
Craig Cannings has set up VAClassroom, a cutting-edge online training center for Virtual Assistants looking to enhance their skills. It provides you with the opportunity to learn at your own pace with videos, assignments and an interactive forum.
Here’s my VAClassroom Review:
I’ve been through the videos and they are very good - Craig is very thorough teacher. Subjects include blogging, affiliate marketing, web analytics, search marketing, social media and email marketing. There’s even a video to help you with productivity, which is essential to your success. New courses are being added on an ongoing basis.
You also get a detailed course manual which provides you with lots of additional tips, resources and advice, over and above the training modules.
When you’ve completed your training you’re issued with an Internet Marketing VA certificate, demonstrating your new skillset, and a logo that you can put on your website.
It’s one thing to learn the skills, but it WOULD be nice to get clients delivered to your door as well, wouldn’t it?
Well, inside VAClassroom, there’s a ‘marketplace’ where you can list your details and skills. Craig is well established in the internet marketing arena and has contacts who are actively looking for skilled internet marketing Virtual Assistants. These potential clients are given access to the marketplace so they can browse through and find a suitable VA. Furthermore, there are opportunities to connect with other VAs who may want to subcontract to you.
I heard of one VA getting a 20 hour a week contract through VAClassroom and another who got three quality clients within a couple of weeks of completing the course.
The beauty of this type of work is that it’s ongoing. I’ve been involved in internet marketing for a few years and I know that the work is never complete! Clients NEED ONGOING HELP with all aspects of internet marketing.
Ok, so is there anywhere you can get answers to any technical questions you might have? Sure, there is an active forum and the team are very diligent at responding to questions. In addition, there is live weekly coaching. Obviously, these are very important aspects of a training membership site.
The only downside is the possibility of being overwhelmed by the information. However, if you’re involved in internet marketing in any way, you’d better get used to it, because information will be flying at you from all directions! VAClassroom helps with overwhelm by breaking it down into modules and taking a measured approach to learning.
Quite frankly, I’m astounded at the value that VAClassroom provides and have no hesitation in recommending it highly:
“I’ve been thrilled with the VA Classroom learning experience. Craig is incredible, I think. He’s obviously done a huge amount of work to put the Classroom together.
Each of the modules is extremely comprehensive. I particularly like learning visually–the videos–so that aspect of the Classroom was especially useful for me. The videos are very to understand. If you’ve explored his site, you’ve probably also seen that he has an Assignment Guide, and there is a test to take after each module.
Craig also generously shares many, many resources (helpful Web sites and other learning tools) to help in the learning process.
While online doesn’t afford the opportunity for students to actually meet in person with Craig and other students like in an on-site college, there is a Forum at the VA Classroom where you can easily post questions and interact with members.
Craig is also very responsive to one-on-one emails.
For me, this experience is more than worth the enrollment/purchase price. It is also my understanding that as new things come along that can benefit the VA community, Craig will update his materials.
Since more and more Social Marketing and Internet Marketing seem to be “where it’s at,” the VA Classroom is a good place to get the nuts and bolts. In fact, what Craig presented is much more than I ever thought would be involved.”
