How To Set Up Your Website Quickly And Easily

Filed under: How To Set Up Your Website, Ask A Virtual Assistant

This is a question I get fairly often: how do I set up my own website? Do I need to learn Frontpage or Dreamweaver or is there an easier solution?

When I was starting my business, I did everything from scratch - I taught myself HTML and how to use web design software. I have to admit, it took me quite a while from start to finish. But it was a worthwhile exercise because I eventually wanted to offer web design services to my clients.

If I was setting up my business today, I would choose an easier and quicker solution just to get my website out there. One such solution is The Easy Website Builder, which offers a free 10-day trial so you can see what it’s like. You get 400 templates to choose from, a feedback form with a text box for your clients to fill out, a calendar, testimonials, a newsletter system, five email addresses, a shopping cart so your clients can pay you easily and a lot more. Read more about it here:

You also get a free domain name with the Easy Website Builder, but I wouldn’t recommend using that because it’s not totally personalized for you. You need to get your own domain - the place I’d recommend is:

http://www.namecheap.com

$9.29 Domain name registration at namecheap.com

I use them to buy domains - they are very good AND cheap (under $10 a year for a domain!)

So, if any of you are looking to spend some quiet times over the holiday period exploring how to set up your website for the New Year - this is a good start!
